TRUST EPC SOUTH WORKSHOP IN MONTENEGRO

The Trust EPC South workshop in Montenegro successfully took place on the 16th of May 2018, at the premises of the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro in Podgoritsa, with a total of 28 participants from the energy efficiency, financing and tertiary sectors. Τhe workshop, titled “Encouraging Energy Efficiency Investments in the tertiary sector through Energy Performance Contracting”, was organised by the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Systems Lab of the Technical University of Crete and the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, with the support of the Association of Balkan Chambers and the Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce.
Welcoming notes were addressed by Mrs Marga Koković from the Chamber of Economy of Montenegro, Mr Božidar Pavlović from the Directorate for Energy Efficiency-Ministry of Economy of Montenegro, Mr George Asonitis from the Union of Hellenic Chambers of Commerce and Professor Theocharis Tsoutsos from the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Systems Lab-Technical University of Crete. In the main part of the event, Mr Pavlović gave an overview of the national energy efficiency legislative framework, while representatives from the Technical University of Crete presented the Energy Performance Contracting (EPC) model and process, the Trust EPC South benchmarking and assessment tools for energy efficiency investments, as well as case studies from the South European tertiary sector.
Participants – who highly rated the event – had the opportunity to gain new perspectives on energy efficiency financing, learn about EPC and the GREPCon assessment methodology, get inspiration from pilot cases and best practices presented, network with energy efficiency and finance stakeholders and participate in discussions about the market uptake in Montenegro.
