Capacity Building workshop in Zagreb

On October 21st, the first Capacity Building workshop was organized in Zagreb by the Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar in collaboration with the Croatian Employers’ Association within the European Project Trust EPC South.
The workshop, targeted to stakeholders in the private service sector (i.e. energy managers, facility managers, management and technical personnel) was aimed to offer audience general theoretical and practical information about the EPC contracts and current status of market development.
In the first segment of the seminar, Introduction and current market status, Trust EPC South project was introduced and open invitation for pilot projects was emphasized. Current market status was presented with identified barriers. The status in Croatia has been compared to the other countries participating in the project.
Second segment was focused on energy performance contracting and possibilities of financing EE measures. EPC has been explained on detailed level explaining to the participants the business model, technologies used and legal aspects. Financing is one of the major questions in Croatia and different possibilities have been explained.
Third segment focused on EPC providers and examples. HEP ESCO presented their 13 year old experience and implemented projects. DALEKOVOD ESCO presented their knowledge and projects.
